Wildwood and Vicinity

Wildwood has a lot to offer but surrounding communities also are worth visiting. Cape May is just south of Wildwood. Here you can see the quaint "gingerbread" houses, enjoy some of the best dining in South Jersey, take a horse and carriage ride through the town or ride the Cape May Lewes Ferry to Lewes, DE. The Cape May lighthouse is worth visiting also. Stone Harbor and Avalon are different resorts but share the barrier island just north of Wildwood. . Their beaches are beautiful, homes magnificent and shopping at its best. The bird sanctuary in Stone Harbor is home to hundreds of shore birds. Next up the coast is Sea Isle. It has a small boardwalk, great restaurants and is a fisherman's dream. Ocean City is about 20 miles north and worth the trip. Here is another great boardwalk but more modified. Ocean City is known as the "Family Resort" as it is a dry town. This is a year round community more so than Avalon, Stone Harbor or Sea Isle. Further north is Atlantic City with its casinos.
